Having students create infographics is a great way to assess learning. Infographics are a great way to combine ALL four Cs (creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration)! They take a little bit of time in the beginning to get kids to understand all the complexities BUT it is well worth the time.

I recommend a three phase process move from introducing infographics into the classroom to creating original infographics:
- Explore and explain existing types of infographics related to a topic in class (great for social studies or science). This is like telling the story of the infographic
- Assess and critique infographics to learn about the good and bad elements others have created
- Create and communicate your own infographics....now that you know what makes a good or bad infographic....we begin the process of creating an original!
