Welcome to the 21st Century ClassroomThe 21st Century Classroom Transformation Project is designed to fully leverage technologies that enable teachers to create an engaging and empowering learning experience for all students, embedding standards-based teaching practices. In order to facilitate the transformation, APS classrooms and media centers will receive interactive LED display panels, multimedia document cameras, and collaborative teaching software. To maximize the impact of these 21st Century Classroom tools, the Department of Instructional Technology will facilitate job-embedded professional learning on the new tools and resources. We will target not only utilization, but how to ensure the tools and resources lend themselves to increased critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration (4 C’s).

Become a Digital Citizenship Certified Educator! We currently have NO APS teachers who are certified. Be the first....or among the first. = ) "You’re either seeing it in your classroom or reading about it in the news: another instance of cyberbullying, a classic case of a student divulging too much personal information online, or online occurrences creating classroom management issues. With over 92 percent of kids going online daily, the need for fostering responsible behavior online is crucial in helping our students thrive in today’s digital landscape and harness the power of technology for learning, in and out of the classroom. By earning recognition as a Digital Citizenship Certified Educator, you are taking the necessary steps to equip your students with the skills they need to be responsible online. Join the movement of Common Sense Digital Citizenship Certified Educators who are redefining the way our students interact with technology." -https://www.commonsensemedia.org/educators/certification-educator Download the Digital Citizenship Certified Educator Criteria Checklist & FAQ.
